About a week ago, a picture of a stray Doberman dog was posted in Maoli local community group.
The dog was very skinny, people in the group were anxiously discussing how to feed him or provide assistance.
Until the night, our member bumped into the dog on the street.
She cannot help to see the dog kept hungry and miserable and brought him back for the food and bath.
The dog ended his stray life that night. Maybe because of fear, the dog was too afraid to lay down to sleep indoors.
Two days later, we moved the dog to our association in Taichung for his new life.
At the same time, we contacted the person registered on the microchip.
According to the register, the dog was sent to someone else not long after (he/she) brought him.
After several back-and-forth communications, we realized the dog’s former owner was passed away.
No one was able to take care of him.
Afterwards, he was wandering on the street.
We’re not sure what he has been through, whereas we are certain, his life will be changed.
Now, this Doberman dog’s new name is “Captain”.
He is a stable and about 5 years old.
He is diagnosed with heartworm and Canine Babesiosis.
He is receiving consistent treatments to improve skin problems and nutrition to regain weight.
After our intensive care, he has regained 5 kilograms and his hair was gradually regrown.
We hope he could become healthy and is able to find a new home soon.
We welcome Captain to join “Meet Love Halfway Home for Animals” as one of our family members.
In “Meet Love Halfway Home for Animals”, there are about 30 dogs and 10 cats are waiting to find their new home.
If you’re willing to support and help, small donations are welcomed to ease our pressure.
